Go to a more sensible page than user account after login

There is a module that fixes this problem but it conflicts with the legal module used for the terms and conditions. Its an issue with the legal module which we have to wait for a fix for. Meanwhile one option is to have the Fixtures block show something more sensible like the organisations that your are in.
