Welcome to the MCCU Online County Championships Results Service.
County Associations within the Midland Counties Chess Union and their online players are participating in the inaugural MCCU Online County Championships this Autumn. It is open to all ECF Members and ECF Supporters who have joined or renewed in the 2020/21 season and are eligible for an entered County, played on the Lichess platform:

Those counties playing in the ECF Online County Championships should be familiar with the rules of that competition, if not then refer to that organisation. The same, or similar rules will apply to this event.

In this organisation there will be 2 sections.

Open/Minor
U1825 grade as per Standard ELO Rating

Grades will be based on those published in September 2020

As per the ECF competition matches are played on Saturday evenings at 6.30pm at a rate of G60/15"

If you would like to play in this competition see the information below and contact your county's organiser or secretary if you are eligible applying the criteria below. If no email contact please visit the county's website. You can only play for one county.

Eligibility: A player is eligible to represent one of the following historical counties of England in the Championship if the player is an ECF member or supporter, is not barred from ECF online Clubs, has an active lichess.com playing account and meets one of the following criteria:
(i) Birth in that county.
(ii) Five years’ domicile in that county at any time.
(iii) Two months’ immediate previous and present membership of a club either in or affiliated to that County.
(iv) One month’s immediately previous and present domicile in that County.
(v) Present attendance as a student at a school, college or university in that County.
