The first result of the night was Ken defeating junior debutant Torrin Anderson in a rook and pawn ending, Ken took advantage having the extra pawns. Colin knocked up a fine win to level the scores. Pat then lost to Bill exchanging a Knight for two pawns and threats. However, Bill held out and created strong attacks winning more pieces. Darren was the exchange down but managed to secure a draw with perpetual check.
