An exciting finish on board 1 to level the match for Highcliffe
A good competitive match which initially appeared to be going Southbourne A's way after a short draw on board 3, a quick good win by Len Laker on board 4 and then a hard fought draw on board 2. However, Christian Westrap played well to find a sacrifice of a piece on g7 and then eventually a way to win in a Q + 3P v 2R ending for Highcliffe A on board 1 despite having only 1 or 2 seconds on his clock at one stage. Clearly, he was pleased to have the 30 second increments!
