Enjoyable set of games played by all tonight! Congratulations to New Milton who showed strong perseverance both on and off the chess board, making it to the club despite a flat tyre and then going on to victory!
First game to finish was myself and Barry on board 1. We ended up with a rook and pawn end game so opted for a draw.
Azhar and John played on board 2. Great news for Azhar getting his first win for the Bournemouth E team. He spotted John's unfortunate blunder and used this to his advantage culminating in a lovely back rank check mate.
I didn't catch much of the board 4 game, but Luke grabbed the win over Peter. Well done Luke!
Last to finish was board 3 - Brian and Rachel. Brian was a piece down from very early on but managed to hold out to the very end, after which Rachel's attack proved too much forcing Brian's resignation.
Well done all, look forward to the next one!
