Tough opposition tonight.
Tough opposition tonight. Andre had our first win of the season on board 4, after a Queen’s gambit declined, he found himself with superior material and managed to close out his game. John was a bishop up when I checked his game and also managed to get over the line on board 3, taking the pressure off the remaining Wimborne players.
Boards 1 and 2 were much tighter affairs. Stuart managed to come out on top on board 1 with literally seconds left on the clock. Simon and I were pretty evenly matched at the beginning but I believe he had the upper hand towards the latter part of the game. I eventually ground out a draw but in my opinion the match could have quite easily been 2 – 2.
