Poole E arrived at their
Poole E arrived at their destination awaiting their opponents, and then realised they didn’t have enough players. A short panic and Dave B arrived wondering what the fuss was all about.
Midway through the matches they all seemed to be on bishop and rook Vs knight and rook end games. Aside from Dragos against Dave where 3 pawns had been captured between them.
I looked at Brian Vs Mike M and it seemed like Mike had won the exchange. Later it was a close end game with a couple of pawns in it. I’m not sure what happened to the other rook.
Dragos managed to finish first with a good win. Harshal against Oleksii was next to finish as a draw.
Tim surprised all by not being the last match, the trick of telling him they’re blitz matches seems to be working, now they only go on for 2.5 hours. In a good match against Tony S it ended in a draw.
That left it down to Brian to work some magic, but when there’s only pawns left, and your opponent has two more than you, and none of them are passed, then it’s going to be tough. Mike kept his cool and took the win.
Poole F walk away with the points! 3-1. Home advantage you see. Well played all, a good match.
