Dorchester D v Highcliffe C

At the last minute we were evicted from our normal room and forced to play in the bar. A less than ideal venue but less of a disaster than I had feared. All of the games were well contested. The first to finish was Board 4 where Dexter managed to trap Dan's queen in the corner. I don't know what happened on Board 2 but it finished abruptly when Sid resigned. The final two boards were all about endgames. Joshua looked to have a losing position but he fought hard and Ben's inexperience was evident as he lost a pawn race and the game. More experience on Board 1 saw Steve accurately convert his advantage. A good match which gives Dorchester its first point and Highcliffe the Division 3 championship. Congratulations to them.
