I managed to get the exchange ahead but this allowed my opponent's knight to get an outpost in the middle of the board with lots of threats.
I spotted many of them but eventually missed one.
Bottom board finished last. Three matches in same room.

Another excellent evening of
Another excellent evening of chess, Dorchester bravely hosted three visiting teams which provided plenty to watch . Julian and Robert on board 3 played the game of the night, to my untrained eye it looked as though Robert was being slaughtered, when the board cleared it was two rooks v rook and knight, but Roberts knight seemed to be on steroids as it was rampant throughout the game eventually stealing a rook and the game. 0-1 Highcliffe, Christian on board 1 ground Geoff down 0-2 Highcliffe, Ken on board 2 fought bravely but eventually lost to Andrew 1-2, which left the spotlight on board 4, despite being battered throughout the game I moved into the endgame with what I thought was a won game but agreed a draw to secure the win. Stockfish later showed me the the game was completely equal all the way from start to finish !
