First to finish was board three, in which a Queen's gambit declined ended peacefully after many pieces were exchanged.
A rather chaotic game was played on board one, with the advantage going to-and-fro until Martyn secured a won endgame. One last chance to draw was missed by Norman, allowing Martyn to gain the point for Kendal.
A Nimzovich-Larsen attack on board four was initially parried well by Sean until he lost a pawn. Then a tactical oversight allowed Jonathan's kingside attack to proceed decisively.
On board two a Queen's pawn game was going okay for Nick, who then made a series of errors in the middlegame leaving Jon with a big advantage. But a couple of mistakes from Jon meant it took rather longer than it should have done for him to earn the win.
