A very close match played to the sound of a roller disco next door. Nothing to separate the players on boards 1,3 and 4. which left Bill and myself scrapping it out with plenty of spectators. Bill got the better of the opening, but I managed to get some counter-play through a h4,h5 punt to disrupt his position and then managed to transpose into a winning 2 bishops against a rook ending.

A very close match in which Wimborne were heavily outrated. After just over an hours play only 1 piece and 3 pawns had been taken off all the boards!
Board 3 finished first and board 4 followed. board 1 was a closely fought affair and Ian offered a draw which was duly accepted by Kevin.
On top board Bill seemed to be doing OK but could not activate his pieces and Allan found good attacking lines against the open king and eventually forced a winning combination.
