Halifax have been a bogey club for Hebden Bridge sides this season. Hebden B lost to both Halifax sides in the first half of the season and here a much stronger Hebden A team lost their first match of the season to Halifax A. Richard Porter had a great night holding Matthew Parsons to a draw, David Wedge couldn't find a way to defeat Vivienne Webster with an extra piece in the endgame and Andy Leatherbarrow and Paul Gledhill both had bad days at the office as Hebden lost 0.5-2.5 on the bottom three boards. This result means that Hebden Bridge B are only a point behind the A team at the top of the table so the title contest is right back on.
