Kettering Chess was formed in 1892 and has continued to meet since that time.
Our aim is to encourage people to play chess in a friendly atmosphere.
We welcome new members of all abilities to come along and enjoy themselves.
The club currently has two teams in the Northamptonshire Silver King League aka the Northamptonshire Chess League.
Our Fees
Chess is a relatively inexpensive sport but unfortunately the club does have costs such as rent, competition entry fees and replacing equipment.
New members may come along free of charge to try us out for one week, after which time they will be asked to pay an annual subscription to the club treasurer.
Adults - £60 per year (waged) £40 per year (unwaged)
Juniors - £1 per week.
Any members wishing to play league games will also need to join the ECF each year. You can do this by going to the ECF Website. You will only need to pay one subscription to the ECF regardless of how many teams / clubs you play for or how many tournaments you enter.
