Kent did not have any reserves so our one reserve played a rated reserve game with the main board player who finished first. Else it would have been unfair for the reserve not to play any game after a journey of more than an 1hr. It gave the player a game experience and also ratings. Both Kent Captain (Andrew) and Surrey Captain (Ashwini) had no objections with this. Hope this was acceptable.

Perfectly sensible and normal
Perfectly sensible and normal practice for a player to have a second rated against a reserve, who otherwise wouldn't get a game.
