From the Insurance Chess Club archive (Kevin Parrott)
Slaughter and May also won for the first time in Insurance competition. Fielding grandmaster, William Watson, against a depleted JTW/Cornhill, Slaughter & May move to the semi-finals of the Bowring King. JTW/Cornhill's loss means that they will play the Ombudsmen in the Durham decider. This is a repeat of last year's final.
